📅 What is the membership term?

Kadavu Youth membership follows the academic year, running from September 1 to August 31.

📝 Q: How do I become a member of Kadavu Youth?

To become a member, complete this Youth Registration Form . Once your registration is submitted and the activity fee is paid, you will be added to the youth communications and can begin participating in meetings and activities.

🎓 Who is eligible to join Kadavu Youth?

  • To be eligible for Kadavu Youth programs and activities, at least one parent of the participating youth must be a registered member of the Kerala Association of Delaware Valley (Kadavu).
  • Students entering Grade 7 or above by September are eligible for the membership term.

💵 What is the activity fee?

  • $60 per year for the first child
  • $30 per year for each additional sibling

🧾 How do I register siblings?

Please submit a separate registration form for each child. The first child’s fee is $60; each additional sibling is $30.

💳 How can I pay the activity fee?

After submitting the registration form, you will be shown the payment options on the confirmation page. For your convenience, a PayPal link is included here to make payment quick and easy. 

At this time, we are accepting payments only through PayPal.

💬 Why is there a fee?

The activity fee supports youth programs, events, workshops, volunteering initiatives, and community engagement activities throughout the year.

🧒 What kinds of activities do Kadavu Youth members participate in?

Kadavu Youth members engage in a wide range of enriching activities designed to build confidence, cultural pride, and community spirit. Some of the key activities include:

  • Volunteering at Kadavu events such as the 5K Run, Onam celebrations, Spring Concert, cultural programs, and community drives.
  • Performing in cultural programs, showcasing their talents in music, dance, and arts during major events.
  • Supporting media and communications by assisting with photography, social media content, event coverage, and creative promotions.
  • Developing leadership skills through opportunities in event planning, public speaking, emceeing, and leading group initiatives.
  • Participating in team-building and group outings to foster friendships, collaboration, and community connection.
  • Sharing their unique skills and talents, whether in art, sports, academics, or extracurricular interests, to inspire and support fellow youth members.

Being part of Kadavu Youth is not just about participating in events – it is about belonging to a supportive community that encourages personal growth, celebrates culture, and builds lifelong friendships and leadership skills.

Parent volunteers are always welcome! You can:

  • Help with event coordination and supervision
  • Support youth-led initiatives.
  • Help to identify  volunteer opportunities with non-profit organizations or your workplace

I will be in Grade 12 starting September. Am I eligible to join Kadavu Youth?

Yes, absolutely. Students entering Grade 12 are welcome to join Kadavu Youth. We encourage participation from high school students who are eager to contribute to the community, develop leadership skills, and engage in meaningful activities.

Parents can stay informed by joining the Youth Parent Group on WhatsApp. After completing the youth registration process, parents can request to join this group through the Kadavu Community to receive updates about youth events and activities.

Yes, there is a sibling discount. The registration fee for the first child is $60, and for each additional sibling, it is $30.

Youth meetings are held once a month. The exact dates and times are communicated in advance through the Remind app.

🗳️ Q: How are youth leaders elected?

Youth leaders are selected through a nomination and election process conducted every December. Members interested in leadership roles can nominate themselves if they meet the criteria, and elections are held during the December youth meeting under the guidance of mentors and coordinators.

⏳ Q: Am I eligible to receive volunteering hours for my participation in Kadavu Youth?

Volunteering hours are awarded for specific community service activities and events, not for regular monthly meetings or internal youth activities. Please check with the youth coordinators to confirm which events qualify and to request verification of your hours.
